MediaDNA Library

A private media search app for Windows and macOS. Build a local content index, then search it with a complete file, screenshot or image, or video clip to review matching media, known file locations, and time positions.

What it is for

Find media by what it contains, not where it was saved.

01

Search with a complete file

Check whether the same visual content is already indexed and see every known file location.

02

Find the source of a screenshot or clip

Use an existing screenshot, image, or supported video clip file to review matching media and returned time positions.

03

Maintain a private media library

Review duplicate files, missing paths, offline folders, and update issues without uploading the original media.

Who it is for

For people and teams managing private media across local drives and network storage.

MediaDNA Library is useful when a file, screenshot, or short clip is easier to recognize than its filename or folder.

  • Scattered collections

When media spans local disks, external drives, and NAS folders.

  • Source and reuse checks

When you need to know whether a file, image, or clip already appears in the library.

  • Ongoing maintenance

When duplicate files, unavailable locations, and update issues need one place to review.

How MediaDNA works

Your private media becomes a local content index you can search.

MediaDNA is a content fingerprint built from visual features. The original media stays in your storage, and a selected query file is used only for that search unless you explicitly add its folder to the library.

  1. Index media folders Build a reusable content index for media on local disks, external drives, or connected storage.
  2. Choose what you have Start a search with a complete file, screenshot, image, or video clip.
  3. Compare visual content Match the query against the existing index without rescanning every media folder.
  4. Review files and moments See matching media, known paths, availability, and the time positions returned for screenshot and clip searches.
